My Current Favorite Supplements for Women

*Consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use. Individuals taking medication should discuss potential interactions with their healthcare practitioner.

  • This is my go-to for sleep, muscle relaxation, and nervous system support. It’s a highly absorbable magnesium blend that helps calm the body without feeling sedating or groggy the next day. Great for stress, sleep quality, and recovery.

  • Creatine isn’t just for lifting heavy. I love it for muscle recovery, strength, and brain health. It supports ATP production (cellular energy), cognitive function, and workout recovery, and it’s one of the most well-researched supplements out there.

  • This is a favorite for skin health and tissue support. Vitamin A plays a role in skin integrity, immune function, and overall cellular health. This is one I often use strategically, not casually, and it can make a noticeable difference when it’s appropriate.

  • XymoZyme® is a cost-effective, non-prescription, broad-spectrum, digestive enzyme formula suitable for vegans and designed to support the digestion of fat, protein, carbohydrate, fiber, and lactose. This comprehensive formula contains lipase, proteases, alpha-galactosidase, hemicellulase, papain, lactase, and other key digestive enzymes. XymoZyme works in a wide pH range—unlike porcine pancreatin, which works in a narrow pH range.*

    • Supports Healthy Digestion of Macronutrients and Enhances Nutrient Absorption*

    • Supports Breakdown of Polysaccharides in Beans and Cruciferous Vegetables*

    • Helps Support Pancreatic and Brush Border Enzyme Function*

    • Supports Breakdown of Lactose*

  • K2-D3 5000 features the most bioavailable and bioactive form of supplemental vitamin K2 available and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), the identical form in which vitamin D is derived in the body from cholesterol and synthesized by sunlight on the skin. Studies confirm safety and efficacy for bone and heart health.*

    • Supports Bone Health by Promoting Carboxylation of Bone Proteins*

    • Supports Cardiovascular Health by Affecting Arterial Calcium Deposits*

    • Supports Healthy Blood Clotting*

  • L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and is necessary for the maintenance of many metabolic functions. Under situations of stress, physiological demands increase, triggering a need for glutamine supplementation. For ease of dosing, XYMOGEN’s L-Glutamine provides 4 grams of this amino acid per scoop to help replenish the body’s stores and support glutamine’s many functional roles.*

My Take on Supplements as a Functional Medicine Health and Fitness Coach

We need to talk honestly about supplements. I use them. I recommend them. They can be incredibly helpful when used appropriately.

But somewhere along the way, supplements stopped being supportive tools and started being treated like the main solution. And that shift has quietly created a lot of confusion, frustration, and burnout for people who are genuinely trying to feel better.

If you’ve ever walked away from a functional or holistic appointment with a list of 10–20 supplements and no clear understanding of how they fit into your actual life, you’re not alone.

And if you’ve ever thought, “Why am I spending hundreds of dollars a month on supplements and still not feeling that much better?” you’re asking the right question.

My Rant

About Your Coach

Hey! I’m Rachel, a board-certified (NBHWC) Functional Medicine Health Coach, and I created Beginning the Breakup to help women transition off birth control safely and confidently so they can achieve natural hormone balance.

After my own journey and working with plenty of women struggling with post-birth control symptoms like irregular cycles, fatigue, acne, mood swings, and low libido, I saw how many were left without real answers or support.

I’ve made it my mission to bridge that gap, giving you the education, tools, and guidance to navigate this transition.

This course is designed to help you understand what’s happening in your body, why these symptoms occur, and how to support your hormones naturally so you can feel like yourself again.

You don’t have to do this alone!

Transparency About Compensation

I want to be very clear about this, because trust matters.

I may receive a small commission if you choose to purchase supplements through my professional dispensary (such as Fullscript). You are never required to purchase supplements through me in order to work together, and I encourage clients to make choices that feel right for their needs and budget.

My primary role is to support clients in developing sustainable lifestyle habits, including nutrition, movement, stress management, and self-care. Supplements, when used, are intended to be supportive tools, not the foundation of health or a substitute for healthy lifestyle practices.

All recommendations are made with client autonomy, transparency, and ethical practice in mind. I work with licensed practitioners who make specific recommendations.
