About
I’m Rachel, NBC-HWC, INHC
I’m a functional medicine health and fitness coach who partners with clinicians to provide lab testing, treatment plans, supplement protocols, and health coaching to those struggling with thyroid, gastrointestinal, hormone concerns, and autoimmune conditions.
My Journey:
In college, I had a miserable relationship with my body. Periods were disastrous, my libido went missing, (newly developed) anxiety became debilitating, and UTIs showed up more often than my paychecks. These issues left me completely helpless, my self-esteem destroyed, and my quality of life was in the garbage.
(see photos above)
After years of suffering and being dismissed by doctors, I finally had enough. I had to find something that actually worked… my sanity depended on it.
I put in hours upon hours of research reading every book, listening to every podcast, and understanding every trend to educate myself on how to “fix” my health without a reliance on medications, birth control, or other “bandaids.”
Once I did the research, hired a wonderful Health Coach, and stumbled through A LOT of trial and error, I found the root causes of my health issues and healed them. I totally transformed my diet, exercise routine, and most importantly my lifestyle.
With this newfound knowledge, I decided to pursue my passion by helping women who find themselves going through complicated health journeys.
As for my formal education:
Board Certified by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)
BS in Psychology from Kennesaw State University
Health Coaching Certification through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN)
Health Coaching Intensive Practicum 2.0 through IIN
Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification through Girls Gone Strong
Certified as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (pending)
6+ years of experience in women's health, functional medicine, and fitness coaching.
So that’s what led me here to help YOU. I want to be the one to support you through this incredibly challenging and emotional journey that is reclaiming your health.
Q: What is a health coach?
A. The role of a health coach is very similar to any coach; health coaches guide, support, encourage and empower their clients to take steps towards sustainable behavior change to improve their health and well-being. Health coaches encourage the analysis of lifestyle factors and support clients in altering, changing, or eliminating harmful habits while motivating clients to choose nourishing practices. Often the goal of the client-coach relationship is to find solutions to the client's health concerns while working to accomplish the client's health goals.
-
Coaches can’t do the work for you, when you work with a coach you are the one making the changes. The health coach provides accountability and assistance while the client makes lifestyle changes that can sometimes be too difficult to sustain on their own.
Q: Who do you work with?
A. I work with women who are looking to improve their health holistically, particularly those struggling with hormone imbalances, birth control options, gut health issues, autoimmune issues, and sustainable weight loss. My clients are often dealing with concerns like irregular cycles, fatigue, bloating, and stubborn weight gain and want a root-cause approach rather than a quick fix.
While I primarily work with women, my Men’s Health Program is a great fit for men who want to improve their health through a functional, holistic approach. Men dealing with gut issues, fatigue, weight management struggles, or hormonal imbalances (such as high stress, blood sugar issues, or low energy levels) can benefit from the same foundational strategies I use with women.
The best way to determine if we are a good fit is to book a free consultation. Book here.
***Please be aware that I do not work with every client who books a consultation call. I am selective in who I work with so I can bring the best value to all my clients.
Q: Do you work with clients outside of Utah?
A: Yes! My coaching practice is primarily virtual, and I work with clients across the U.S. Most coaching sessions take place via Zoom, so you can work with me from wherever you live.
Q: What is outside of your scope of practice?
A. As a NBHWC Board-Certified Health Coach, my scope of practice focuses on guiding and educating clients on lifestyle changes, nutrition, stress management, and holistic wellness strategies. However, there are several areas outside of my scope:
🚫 Medical Diagnosis & Treatment – I do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or provide medical treatment. I collaborate with clinicians for that!
🚫 Lab Interpretation – The clinicians (MD + NP’s) I work with order and interpret lab tests.
🚫 Personalized Medical or Nutritional Plans – I offer general nutritional guidance but do not create medical nutrition therapy plans for specific conditions.
🚫 Physical Therapy or Fitness Prescriptions – I do not design exercise programs for injury rehabilitation or medical conditions.
🚫 Mental Health Therapy – While I support emotional well-being, I am not a licensed therapist and do not provide psychological counseling.
I work collaboratively with healthcare providers to support my clients in achieving their wellness goals within my scope. Learn More
Q: Do you take insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance and that’s actually a good thing for you!
Here’s why:
Insurance companies typically only cover conventional, symptom-based treatments, which often means quick fixes instead of true healing. My approach focuses on root-cause health solutions, advanced functional lab testing, and personalized care… none of which are dictated by insurance restrictions.
By working outside the insurance system, you get:
✅ More comprehensive care…not just what insurance allows
✅ Access to advanced lab testing that insurance won’t cover
✅ Longer, more in-depth sessions with a focus on you, not paperwork
✅ Faster results since you don’t need referrals or approvals
Investing in your health now saves you time, energy, and money in the long run, helping you feel better without the limitations of the traditional system.
Q: What are your credentials?
A. I am a Board-Certified Health Coach (NBHWC) with a BS in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. I also hold a Health Coaching Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and have over 6 years of experience in women’s health, weight loss, and functional medicine coaching. My focus is on helping women navigate hormone health, gut health, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
I also collaborate with clinicians to provide clients with a functional medicine approach to health. While they focus on medical diagnosis, labs, supplements and treatment, I support clients in implementing sustainable lifestyle and nutrition changes to complement their care. Learn More
Q: Where do sessions take place?
A: Zoom is the preferred option by most but we can conduct coaching sessions over the phone. We can discuss the details in your Consultation Call which you can book here.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A. Occasionally! I will announce sales and discounts occasionally and you will have access to that information if you are subscribed to my monthly newsletter which you can do below. Or follow me on Instagram!

Hair loss, cold hands/feet, weight gain, chronic fatigue, dry skin, brain fog, nervousness, anxiety, and heart flutters could be signs of a thyroid issue. Even if you are on a thyroid medication you are still at risk of developing these symptoms. Most MDs only test TSH levels which is NOT the full picture. Let’s take a functional approach to boost and enhance thyroid function.
-
Bloating, gas, food sensitivities, IBS, acid reflux, painful digestion, constipation, loose stool, I’ve heard it all. Let’s take a deeper look at what bacteria, parasites, fungi, or viruses that could be lurking in your GI system and get things back into balance to achieve symptomless eating.
-
Excess facial hair, acne, hair loss, low libido, vaginal dryness, intense period cramps, 60-day cycles, anxiety, mood swings, infertility, breast soreness, fatigue, or weight gain are just SOME of the signs that something could be wrong with your hormonal balance and/or menstrual cycle.

WHAT IS A HEALTH COACH?
According to the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC), a health coach is “a trained professional who partners with individuals or groups in a client-centered process to facilitate and empower the client to achieve self-determined goals related to health and wellness.”
Health coaches support their clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes by helping them develop their own strengths, resources, and self-efficacy.
They use evidence-based strategies, motivational interviewing techniques, and behavior change theories to foster the client's motivation, commitment, and accountability in achieving their health goals.
Health coaches work collaboratively with clients to address various dimensions of health, including physical, emotional, social, occupational, and spiritual well-being, and they adhere to ethical standards and guidelines in their practice.
